Our story
“ I first stepped into the branded merchandise industry over 20 years ago, eventually going on to create my own company (you can check them out at mojopromotions.co.uk). I’ve always loved making things, and over time merchandise became a real passion of mine. But as the years went by and I watched millions of products being produced and shipped across the world, I became increasingly aware of the environmental impact our industry was having.
And then, in the summer of 2020, I watched David Attenborough’s A Life on Our Planet, and it genuinely changed me. Almost immediately, we began taking action. We joined Ecologi, became a climate-positive workforce, offset significant amounts of carbon, and planted thousands of trees. We also joined 1% for the Planet, achieved B-Corp certification, and introduced eco scoring across our product range.
Interestingly, it was eco scoring that opened up the most questions—and revealed how few answers were available. It made me wonder: shouldn’t our entire industry be doing this? Shouldn’t transparency be the norm rather than the exception?
That’s when Evermerch was born.
